Doula Training Update (April 2012)

With my current paid gigs, I'm an event planner and a medical transcriptionist. I've just returned from a work conference in San Diego and this month was CRAZY busy work wise. I have about 3-1/2 weeks until my daughter gets out of school and I'm still trying to meet my goal of submitting for my doula certification at the end of May. I'm really close. Here are the final projects I need to complete.
  1. Communication assignment. This is the biggest task. I have to write an essay using The Reflective Model which details my own birth experience. The requirements are very specific and lengthy. I hope to submit my rough draft to my trainer next week.
  2. Survey. This is a task in which I research what childbirth options, classes, and support are available in my area.
  3. Book review. I'm still trying to decide on my final reading choice. There are so many great options to choose from.
Basically, that's all that's left for me to do. I've already completed my exams, textbook reading, book reviews, and certifying births. I can hardly wait for the day I get to submit everything.
